Dit is tot hiertoe die enigste optekening wat ons van hierdie Khoekhoense naam gemaak het vir Send(e)lingsdrif(t), in verskeie spellingvariante, en verder ook genoem 'Bethany Drift' (vgl. Mossop 1935 VRV 15 kaart agterin). Daar was op hierdie plek meer as een deurgang oor die rivier. Sendelingsdrif word tot vandag toe nog op minstens twee plekke gesitueer, vgl. o.a. Topografiese reeks 1:50 000 1972 vel 2816 BB Sendelingsdrif. Dit was die kortpad na Bethanien en liideritzbucht (Angra Pequena), anders moes hulle oor Ramans- of Kompanjiesdrif gaan. Aan die Suidweskant van Sendelingsdrif was ’n afsetting modder en sand. Ons het geen aanduiding van die betekenis van die naam nie, maar ag dit moontlik dat die lid t’Nau- kan wees soos Nama ǃnawu = 'Abktirzungsweg einschlagen' (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 284), en die -dom- soos Nami dommi = keel, deurgang, met die -p as lokatiefindeks. Ongeveer 'Kortpaddrif, -deurgang'. Hoe ook al, ons wou die dokumentasie van die naam graag bewaar.
