This is in response to our question whether there is in these ward farms who had previously Namaname. It appears that the current farm bright eye No. 30, northeast of Karasburg, has a name translated member of Khoekhoens (╪khai = shiny, mu-s = eye, cf. Rest 1960 DNW 27 SV 'Glossys', ╪ Khai there still Ryns spelled + Kei, and for Mus see p. 6). The thought of 'shiny' probably comes from the dry salt pan on the farm that glittered under the sun (cf. SWA Series 1974 Skin 2718 GRTinau).

Dit is in antwoord op ons vraag of daar in hierdie wyk plase is wat vroeër Namaname gehad het. Dit blyk dat die huidige plaas Blinkoog nr 30, noordoostelik van Karasburg, ’n naam het wat lid vir lid uit Khoekhoens vertaal is (╪khai = blink, mu-s = oog, vgl. Rust 1960 DNW 27 s.v. 'glanzen', ╪ khai daar nog Ryns gespel + kei, en vir mus kyk bl. 6). Die ge- dagte aan 'blink' kom waarskynlik van die droë soutpan op die plaas wat onder die son glinster (vgl. SWA-reeks 1974 vel 2718 Grtinau).
