Norokhoros
The Khoekhoense name is not kept more than farm name; According to the Krikriekarte in 1904, an alternative name 'Klein Kalkfontein' for the source, containing in the element lime-a translation in Afrikaans (or German), but also that name became disused, at least, that is not farm name. The member -k (h) Oros is like Nama ikhoro- = 'der limestein ... der Kalkhugel' (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 248), with the exit -s indicating that the place is a fountain is. Only Weber give the normalized suction consonant. Weber Translation ǀ Noro-, D.I. 'Prepared', actually for guards, Nama ǀ Noro = 'Gerben', Kr.-r. 292. 'Looikalkfontein'. This place lies between Nos No. 31 and OAS No. 29, and should not be confused with Kalkfontein East No. 51 and West No 48 on S 2718/2818, also in the Dist. Karasburg.
