Gamtoab
The name is missing on younger cards we are trying to check it. We cannot identify it with great certainty. With the mid-to our disposal, it seems as if it may be the old name of the current 'Swartkloof River'; In this case, the Afrikaans name does not translate the Khoekhoense name. Gamtoab has no suction consonants, also not at Hahn, for this 'river' flowing east and Bakrivier (╪Goub) south of AOS 'inner flow'. Looking at the SWA series 1974 Skin 2718 Grainau, one can say it is a river that is actually no river. The name suits well. Toa = 'Aus signal, Aufhoren, Zu Ende Gehen' (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 359), and Gam = 'Den Mund Fill Fliisonkeit Nehmen' (Kr.- The 'river (indicated by the ml. EKV. -B) where a mouthful of liquid (GAM) has received / is no longer available (toa)', a dry or dried-out run.
