Vandag is dit die naam van plaas nr 95, dist. Bethanien, en le suid van die dorp by ’n saamvloeiing met die Konkiep, vgl. Kriegskarte, met tussen hakies ook ’n skryfvorm vir Goageb-Igaos of, beter, Konkiep-ǃgaos, as ander naam; ǃgao-s is 'inloop, invloei'. Maar in die plaasnaam hierbo het ons te doen met ǃgoa- = kloof, dal, 'die Schlucht' (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 125), dus die 'Grootkloof', by gei [kai] = groot, verklaring soos by K Swartbooi.
