The white pitz complex lies in the Liarderitz district, about north of Oranjemund, and consists of Witputz-Nord No. 22, W.-Süd No. 31 and W. West No 86. The starting point was apparently the (human) wells. The -s of Uribes also refer to a water location such as a source or opening. The member Uri of the inland name, in Namaǃ Uri, means 'white'; the -be- is functional in place names simply a locative morpheme and does not translate in itself the concept 'puts', but as a whole has been seen as a whole Witputz The translation into its main element of the old Uribes or 'Witwatersplek', today among Namas speakers.
