ǃHu-ams

We have already discussed this Huams in th a ** 578 and declare as Grand or Sandmond and also topographically motivated. Now two facts come. On the cited card here appears that the alternative name was Sandmund, a translation in German (or diluted Afrikaans) of the old Khoekhoense name in friendly co-existence. The second fact is: Huams still the name of Farm No 271, border on his west side to Farm No. 270, registered as 'Sandmund' and as such written on maps, eg. On SWA series 1974 sheet 2718 GRIINU. On Sandmund, a sprout also called 'Sandmond' site. A connection between Huams and Sandmund as names of the taxing farms is not to deny. We believe 'Sandmund' must be regarded as the direct translation of the old Khoekhoense name.

eng We have already discussed this Huams in th a ** 578 and declare as Grand or Sandmond and also topographically motivated. Now two facts come. afr Ons het hierdie Huams reeds bespreek in TH A** 578 en verklaar as Grand- of Sandmond en daar ook topografies gemotiveer. Nou kom twee feite by.
