This applies here, Narudas No. 268 on the eastern hang of the Great Karas Mountains, located to the north of Duration Drift, the farm where we were questioned. The farm is well known to them. We don't come this place's name on old cards. Our oldest recording is on the DSWA series 1911 Blatt 29 Warmbaths, and then it is entered as 'Narudas N (Ord)' and '] Sarudas S (IID)', and thereon a triangle beacon 'Narudas', thus every time with first syllabe than na-, not nu- 305). e.g. by sliding off a shore or a slope. The -da's say that it is the name of a place, the - definite that the place is a source / fountain.

Dit geld hier plaas Narudas nr 268 aan die oostelike hang van die Groot Karasberge, geleë ten noorde van Duurdrift, die plaas waar ons segsliede ondervra is. Die plaas is aan hulle goed bekend. Ons kom hierdie plek se naam nie op ou kaarte tee nie. Ons oudste optekening is op die DSWA- reeks 1911 Blatt 29 Warmbad, en dan is dit ingeskryf as 'Narudas N(ord)' en ']Sarudas S(iid)', en daarop 'n driehoeksbaken 'Narudas', dus telkens met eerste sillabe as Na-, nie Nu- nie. Ons segsliede ken dit in die wande- ling as N-u-rudas en verbind dit vir die betekenis met ǃnuru = 'auf dem Gesass iiber den Boden rutschen' (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 305). bv. deur van ’n wal of ’n skuinste af te gly. Die -da-s se dat dit die naam van ’n plek is, die -s bepaaldelik dat die plek ’n bron/fontein is.
