Suidsuidoostelik van Keetmanshoop, in daardie distrik, le twee aangren- sende plase met dieselfde naam, Hoas nr 94 en Hoas nr 318, tussen die Klein- en die Groot-Karasberge. In TH A** 557 het ons die vermoede uit- gespreek dat die eerste lid soos Nama +hoa = blou moet wees. Nou het ons meer sekerheid. Die naam is bodembeskrywend n.a.v. die kleur van die klipgesteldheid by die bron wat die beginpunt van die plaasname was, soos Nama a-s = 'loch (allg.)'
