In TH A** 557 het ons die vermoede uit- gespreek dat die eerste lid soos Nama +hoa = blou moet wees. Nou het ons meer sekerheid. Die naam is bodembeskrywend n.a.v. die kleur van die klipgesteldheid by die bron wat die beginpunt van die plaasname was, soos Nama a-s = 'loch (allg.)' (Rust 1960 DNW 39), gat, hier op te vat as ’n kuil, soos by ons segsliede.
