Abuchabis

It is the name of farm No. 90, north of Grizinu and located between the Great and the Little Karas Mountains, west of the Great tar road. According to Smith 1966, the diver is a Grielum Sp., Fam. Rosaceae, according to what S.V. Also known as a Gheibie. The plant is good, fat-minded animal feed, the name comes that the diving goat is very much loved (Smith Tap) the member -xabi- = place, or else it is composed of -exa- = lot, + bi- as locative and singing. Fern, - which may indicate that the starting point of the farm name was a fountain or drinking place. Mr J Boois 1979 Language Assistant says in a note that the member -xabis 'sounds like a contraction of Xa-Aibbes, ╪ Abuxa-Aibbes is the' place on which growth so lush '.' The 'place (Xabi, and via the place where there was a fountain) where the diver root (T = AWU) was found / where many (-exa) diver roots are'.

afr Dit is die naam van plaas nr 90, noord van Griinau en geleë tussen die Groot- en die Klein-Karasberge, wes van die groot teerpad. Die duikerwortel is volgens Smith 1966 CNSAP 205 'n Grielum sp., fam. Rosaceae, volgens WAT s.v. ook bekend as 'n gheibie. Die plant is goeie, vetma- kende veevoer, die naam kom daarvan dat die duikerbok baie lief daar- voor is (Smith t.a.p.) Die lid -xabi- = plek, of anders is dit saamgestel uit -xa- = baie, + bi- as lokatief en die sing. fern, -s wat miskien aandui dat die beginpunt van die plaasnaam ’n fontein of drinkplek was. Mnr J Boois 1979 Taalassistent se in ’n Aantekening hierby dat die lid -xabis 'vir my klink soos 'n sametrekking van xa-aibes, ╪ Abuxa-aibes is die ‘Plek waarop ╪abub so welig groei’.' Die 'Plek (xabi-, en bepaaldelik die plek waar daar ’n fontein was) waar die duikerwortel (T=awu-) aangetref is/waar baie (-xa-) duikerwortels is'.
