ǀGiriǂnaris

This name has already been discussed in th a * 419 n.a.v. Schultze 1904-5 Anuk 155's return (+ naris = island; ǀ girib = fox). There are now three places with the (partially) translated name, the farm Schakalskuppe No. 18, the western and larger neighboring farm Jackal kick No. 130, and on it the station Schakalekuppe at the fountain. The name Girinaris is apparently the oldest. It was called by chief fishing (by us in how age in fii- Deritzbucht visit) as a case where the old names have been translated. However, the old name is still known, also heard by Pastor Rust. Perhaps the course is the following: The Namas the neighborhood called the Girinaris. The main language to and next to Nama among them was Afrikaans, and Schultze 1904-5 mentioned that Girinaris was already known as 'Jakaalkopje' (note the -kopje). In German times, the farm was registered in a German form, and later on subdivision the youngest name remained Afrikaans (not '.' , and at the 'translation' as jackal kick (pie), the element 'fox' is retained. And the localization displaces the head (pie). The exit -s suspect that the starting point was the fountain today is, see SWA series 1968 sheet 2616 Bethanien.

afr Hierdie naam is alreeds bespreek in TH A* 419 n.a.v. Schultze 1904-5 ANUK 155 se opgawe ( + naris = eiland; ǀgirib = jakkals).
