eng Heidmann was the missionary of the hasters of the garden. The droughts and the resulting intensified robberies of the Koranas and the Bushmen forced them to leave their old homeland, and their big move had just begun. They are now on their way to their new homeland, under the lead of Herman van Wyk. Temporary they also on ╪ chaste, north of Bethanien. It was a time of turmoil and disagreement, because they were scarcely given in the country of David Christian. The name means the 'source of annoyance', with the Fern. Sing ,, via a source name here, at Nama + K (H) onion- = 'Ekel, UEBERDRUSS' (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 258). 'Annoyance fountain', or perhaps 'Verdroistfontein-'. Either way, the name is not given by the garden tractors. It's much older. We find the name recorded at least in 1848 in the spelling of 'Kuhwis, with the way comma in front of a suction patch, unspecified here.

Die droogtes en die gevolglike verskerpte rooftogte van die Koranas en die Boesmans het hulle gedwing om hulle ou tuisland te verlaat, en hulle Groot Trek het pas begin. Hulle is nou op pad na hulle nuwe tuisland, onder aanvoering van Herman van Wyk. Tydelik staan hulle oor ook op ╪ Kuis, noord van Bethanien. Dit was ’n tyd van woeling en onmin, want hulle word in die land van Dawid Christian nouliks oorstaningsreg gegun. Die naam beteken die 'Bron van ergernis', met die fern. sing, -s bepaaldelik vir 'n bronnaam hier, by Nama +k(h)ui- = 'Ekel, Ueberdruss' (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 258). 'Ergernisfontein', of miskien 'Verdrietfontein-’. Hoe gepas ook al, is die naam nie deur die Tuinse Trekkers daaraan gegee nie. Dit is veel ouer. Ons vind die naam minstens al in 1848 opgeteken in die spelling van ’Kuhwis, met die hoe komma vooraan vir ’n suigklap, hier ongespesifiseer.
