According to help from Hahn's writing, it is possible to understand as Namaǃ Gurf = High (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 146), D.W.S. The how, or whore tributary of the concipal with which it later flows. The Gusib is a tributary of the Gurib. A look at the map shows that the Gurib until his confluence is about in the middle of the equally southward concoction and Grootfish River. Now is 'middle' in Nama 4Guri-B, with another sucker than at Hahn. The 'middle river' was accounted for by location and according to sound group good (cf. Kr.- R. 149 4Guri-B = the mitte). For the time being, it has our preference.

Volgens hulp verkry van Hahn se skryfwyse is dit moontlik te verstaan soos Nama ǃgurf = hoog (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 146), d.w.s. die hoe, of hoerliggende sytak van die Konkiep waarmee dit later saamvloei. Die GUSIB is ’n sytak van die Gurib. ’n Blik op die kaart laat sien dat die Gurib tot voor sy samevloeiing ongeveer in die middel le van die ewe eens suidwaartsstromende Konkiep en Grootvisrivier. Nou is 'middel' in Nama 4guri-b, met ’n ander suigklap as by Hahn. Die 'Middelste rivier' is volgens ligging verantwoord en volgens klankgroep goed (vgl. Kr.-R. 149 4guri-b = die Mitte). Dit het voorlopig ons voorkeur.
