Nukaneb

Nu- like Nama ╪nu 'black'. There is little uncertainty about the member. It is not equal to Lhani, the 'red-door' or 'red cannol' not due to the color difference, and there is slightly doubt whether the ordinary canned is meant, the hydnora africana or jackal food, which is a brownish tuber underground (Smith 1966 CNSAP 257-8, which is 1968 5 246). Yet, nevertheless, there is no doubt, viz. 'Black nutsedge river', 'Black Button River'.

Description
eng Nu- like Nama ╪nu 'black'.
'Swartuintjiesrivier', 'Swartknolrivier'.
