This is the name of farm No. 6 northeast of Bethanien, partly on the western bank of the Fish River. The Gorob started his walk on the farm, and there is also a big flattery pan, cf. SWA Series 1968 Skin 2616 Bethanien. The component Gava, exchange ruling of Igaba, also of Igawa- (cf. Th A * 43 under 5 B 1 for B / W), is for the Catophractes Alexan- Dri or Black Dorn (Smith 1966 CNSAP 605), the -am - = mouth, opening, eg. In transmitter sense for a fountain eye, wells, etc., with the -s (sing, fern.) More determined for a water location or place of residence, recruitable etc. This blackther occurs frequently next to the Fish River, apparently place names, cf. o.a. Gabasis, Gawachab and Gawagam.

afr Dit is die naam van plaas nr 6 noordoostelik van Bethanien, gedeeltelik aan die westelike oewer van die Visrivier. Die Gorob begin sy loop op die plaas, en daar is ook 'n groot vleiagtige pan, vgl. SWA-reeks 1968 vel 2616 Bethanien. Die komponent Gava-, wisseluitspraak van Igaba-, ook van Igawa- (vgl. TH A* 43 onder 5 B 1 vir b/w), is vir die Catophractes alexan- dri of swartdoring (Smith 1966 CNSAP 605), die -am- = mond, opening, bv. in oordragtelike sin vir ’n fonteinoog, puts, ens., met die -s (sing, fern.) meer bepaaldelik vir 'n waterplek of woonplek, werf ens. Hierdie swartdoring kom veelvuldig langs die Visrivier voor, blykens plekname, vgl. o.a. GABASIS, GAWACHAB en GAWAGAM.
