The Localization by Socead shows that Geinab and Grootkin is the same place, the linguistic identification shows that the current Afrikaans name is just a translation of the old Khoekhoense name. The Gei [kai] = large, the -na-b is the realization of Nama ╪ga-b, -s = 'Das Grabwasserloch, the 'Puts' (im Trockenen Flussbett Bis Auf Das Untergrial flossing washer Aus sowing wheels Wasserloch) ... '(Kr.-r. 1969 NW 97). The nationality of the vowel comes out in the labile -n- that takes the place of the Hommorganic Palatal Collecture, ╪g 'is observed as (╪) n-. The old geinab, today Grootkolk, lies to the Nossob, just south From the river, at dry pans, in the national gemsbokpark, at the top of the Dist. Gor- Donia.
