The oldest records we possess are ǀ Hooreas, eg. 1876 at Kreft, 1885 at Capt. Hendrik Witbooi, cf. TH A ** 559 S.V. Whores. This verdict is still standing today, also with the same lateral sucker. As for this neurax, so also for the other neurax, place no 330 on 2317 AC, the remark applies that we are completely in the dark about the meaning. The change of the N and H-in the Scripture of the farm names we often encounter in other names and in other words where the Anlaut was preceded by a suction patch, by way of speech, cf. also th a * 5 d 6 p. 46.

Die oudste optekeninge waaroor ons beskik, is ǀHoeras, bv. 1876 by Kreft, 1885 by kapt. Hendrik Witbooi, vgl. TH A** 559 s.v. HOERAS. Hierdie uitspraak hou tot vandag toe stand, ook met dieselfde laterale suigklap. Soos vir hierdie Neuras, so ook vir die ander Neuras, plaas nr 330 op 2317 AC, geld die opmerking dat ons aangaande die betekenis volkome in die duister verkeer. Die wisseling van die N- en die H- in die skrifbeeld van die plaasname het ons dikwels teegekom in ander name en in ander woorde waar die anlaut deur 'n suigklap voorafgegaan is, by wyse van spreke, vgl. ook TH A* 5 D 6 bl. 46.
