Dit korreleer met die huidige 'Rietoog'’ nr 493, suidwestelik van Rehoboth, en aan die 'Rietoogrivier'. Die- beginpunt was moontlik die water- loop uit die oog, vandaar die -b van die ml. ekv., by mu- = sien, s.nw. oog, d.w.s. wateroog, waar daar riete gestaan het, soos Nama ╪a- = 'das Riet...' (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 32). ╪A-mub, 'Rietoog'. Pastor Moritz 1978 Brief noem enkele name uit hierdie omgewing van Hyas wat die familie Vlok aan horn verklaar het. Daaronder is ook 'Amub', klaarblyklik die- selfde pleknaam. Amub vind ons in hierdie omgewing nie meer op ons kaarte terug nie, maar dit bestaan kennelik nog in die volksmond. Die verklaring van Amub soos in genoemde brief opgeneem, is 'grimes land', d.w.s. die naam word vandag agterna (en wel verkeerdelik) verklaar as sou dit bestaan uit lam = groen, plus ǃhub = land, grond, d.w.s. nie as =bA- mub nie, maar as synde lAmlhub. Maar volgens die koördinate moet dit anders gesillabiliseer word, en met ander suigklappe, nl. as ╪A-mub vir 'Rietoog'. Hierdie Amub moet nie verwar word met AMHUB in TH A* 185 nie.
