Gomnab is Farm No 104, Dist. Rehoboth (AdressBuch 1939), now Mariental, at Weber Gumnab, at Flahn Comnab, ordinary variations in observation. The cricke marte gives the two forms alongside each other, the old who is still the usual, viz. With the skeleton G-, and the shape without the G- who reflects the younger pronunciation. Under the cited vessels Translate Missionaries Vollmer and Judt the name as 'roarmaid', with the components ǀ o-b = 'geriuction', andǃ Na-B = 'Bauch' (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 315 and 278 resp.). No longer known is the incident or case that was rise to the naming. Noteworthy that it borders on the farms bowel-ost and bowel-west nos 107 and 109.

Onder die aangehaalde segsliede vertaal sendelinge Vollmer en Judt die naam as 'Brulmaag', met die komponente ǀo-b = 'Geriiusch', en ǃna-b = 'Bauch' (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 315 en 278 resp.). Nie meer bekend nie is die voorval of geval wat aanleiding tot die naamgewing was. Opmerklik dat dit grens aan die plase Derm-Ost en Derm-West nrs 107 en 109.
