The current name translates the old inland name, watching Guchas 2418 AB. It was an important node of roads, east of Rehoboth and East of Klein-Auob, Dist. Windhoek, and in the vicinity of many other farm names with ingredient Gu () - or (translated) SPRINGBO (C) K-. Noteworthy that the nasal sign above the -u- of GU at hahn has been omitted, probably just a printing error.
