Hahn just gives the original Khoekhozen name for this place on the northern bank of the lower run of the Kuiseb, south of Swartbank. The crook of a quarter later mentions both, the Khoekhoen and the translated Afrikaans name, but Afrikaans now speaks, Hihasplought 'Kipnes'. A small ten year later, the inland name of the cards disappeared, and the Afrikaans form appeared better and foorded as 'Klippas', today 'Klipneus'. The member-nose is translated from Nama Tgui- = 'The Nase ... The Bergnase' (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 149). The first member ni should then match stone. It refers to some interrogators to a tough, stubborn or stubborn stone bank in the river whale, which was also caused elsewhere for the names Black and Rooibbank Hoorop, in this case as at Nama Tni = 'Frech signal, Im Bosen Verstore' (Cr. - R. 290), but we believe it is just as Nama TNI for black brown (or strongly oxidized) stone, cf. Niais. The member 'nose' points to an agreement that calls the naking natural scene with the body part, formed by the black-brown stone mass or the TNI stone.
