Djab
It was originally a river name, on which also the -B of the ML. EKV. Refer. The river's upperpures were north of Gamsberg (at Hahn still missing north of the Hakosberg), then it flows from east to west until it is included in the Kuiseb. The river name is spelled today 'Djab', and there is an eponymous farm Djab No. 26. The farm name was discussed in th a * 317 n.a.v. A spokesman's opinion that the ground word means 'foam in the mouth of a riding horse under the hall', in his words 'foam, smaring'. The WinSpos now is the exact lounge at Hahn, viz. The dental, but further we did not come.

Dit was oorspronklik 'n riviernaam, waarop ook die -b van die ml. ekv. heenwys. Die rivier se bolope was noordelik van Gamsberg (by Hahn nog miswysend noord van die Hakosberge), dan vloei dit van oos na wes tot dit in die Kuiseb opgeneem word. Die riviernaam word vandag gespel 'Djab', en daar is by sy oorspronge ’n gelyknamige plaas Djab nr 26. Die plaasnaam is bespreek in TH A* 317 n.a.v. 'n segsman se mening dat die grondwoord beteken 'skuim in die bek van ‘n ryperd onder die saal', in sy woorde 'foam, slime'. Die winspos nou is die presiese tongslag by Hahn, nl. die dentale, maar verder het ons nie gekom nie.
