The inland animal name went into the language of the whites, in Afrikaans usually spelled kudu (where in th a **), in English Koodoo or Kudu. Lg. Also the usual spelling in German. KuduGerg above is for farms No. 60, Dist. Gobabis, or for No 9 at Grizinu, Kududantm for Farm No 161. Dist. Tsumeb. Kuduskuppe is for a mountain, dist. Gobabis. There are still many other place names showing the presence of the kudu, but they form no problem for the statement in the body.
