Today it is postponeman Nr 263, earlier Nubitsaus, which we declared as possible o.a. 'Black pits', at ╪NU- = black, with infects -be-, plus-tsau- = puts. We now believe that this qua-equal to Nama ╪Goa- = mud, clay, so that Kubethaz is to be 'mud' or 'clay nuts' (Nama ╪ Goethaus), and so the alternative name Nubitsaus or 'black pits 'Refer to the dark color of the mud there. The two Khoekhoen names for the same place complement each other in fact. The name Kubethsus has now completely disappeared for the farm Nabitsaus north of Rehoboth, in the Rehoboth area, to the USIP River.

Ons meen nou dat hierdie Kua- gelyk te stel is met Nama ╪goa- = modder, klei, sodat Kuabetsaus te begryp is as 'Modder-' of 'Kleiputs' (Nama ╪ Goabetsaus), en sodat die alternatiewe naam Nubitsaus of 'Swartputs' verwys na die donker kleur van die modder daar. Die twee Khoekhoense name vir dieselfde plek vul mekaar in feite aan.
