Current on the sound association is to think of Gama = crooked (Rust 1960 DNW 37) and ǀǀ Goe = 'Liege' (Rust 39), with the ECV. -s of the female genus. So about 'Kromfontein', otherwise 'brown (wreath) nosefontein', such as Nama ╪gama = 'Braun' (Rest 12), and ╪gui- = 'Nase, auch mountain nase' (Rust 44).

In hierdie vorm vind ons die naam nie meer terug nie. Dit le net bokant die huidige Hohewarte nr 76, oos van Windhoek, in die bergagtige streek. Afgaande op die klankassosiasie is te dink aan gama = krom (Rust 1960 DNW 37) en ǀǀgoe = 'liegen' (Rust 39), met die ekv. -s van die vroulike genus. So ongeveer 'Kromfontein', anders 'Bruin(krans)neusfontein', soos Nama ╪gama = 'braun' (Rust 12), en ╪gui- = 'Nase, auch Berg- nase' (Rust 44).
