Die tweede lid -kau-b is 'nek', in Ou-Kaaps reeds met velaar in 1691 opgeteken (bv. Valentyn skryf dit quao-(b)), in Kora o.a. as ǃkx’au-b (HOTT 399-400), in Nama tans sonder velaar as ǃau-b, -s. Mnr Krenz ontleed dit so: ǃgam = doodmaak, met uitgang en partikel go vir 'gedode', plus 'gaub' vir hoofman, heerser. Dit is van belang om te let op die eerste naam soos op die Kriegskarte aangeteken.
