The igomen is a 'tribesil der ╪aunin im kaokofeld' (Kr.- R. 1969 NW 127, quoted from Schinz). The Topners (╪Aonin) settled down here long Mars in the vicinity of Walvis Bay and Rooibbank, but a particle moved further to Sesfontein and surroundings and they are called the igomen. 'ǃ Vielleicht nennt man Sie So, Weil es in Zesfontein Retry Der Nhe's Meeres Calrar ist as im inland ', testifies teacher Ishmael Petersen of Usakos (Vedder S.J. QUELEN 2 37). The ǀǀ gam-s = 'water', well 'sea' in this context, or 'bay', the whole means so about 'Gomenwater' or 'Gomenbaai'., The name preserves a piece of history. Walvis Bay is also named after the entire top stem that laid there, cf. Aredame.

Die IGomen is ’n 'Stammesteil der ╪Aunin im Kaokofeld' (Kr.-R. 1969 NW 127, aangehaal uit Schinz). Die Topnaars (╪Aonin) het hulle nadie lang mars hierheen gevestig in die omgewing van Walvisbaai en Rooibank, maar ’n deeltjie het verder getrek na Sesfontein en omgewing en hulle word genoem die IGomen. ' ǃGom mit Tiefton heisst im Nama das Erstarren des Wassers zu Eis. Vielleicht nennt man sie so, weil es in Zesfontein wegen der Nahe des Meeres kalter ist als im Inlande', getuig onderwyser Ismael Petersen van Usakos (Vedder s.j. Quellen 2 37). Die ǀǀgam-s = 'water', wel 'see' in hierdie konteks, of 'baai', die geheel beteken dan so ongeveer 'Gomenwater' of 'Gomenbaai'., Die naam bewaar ’n stuk geskiedenis. Walvisbaai is ook genoem na die hele Topnaarstam wat daar gelê het, vgl. AUNINGAME.
