Nou lyk dit of mnr Hanse en sy span se dat Auheib ’n alternatiewe uitspraak is vir Aihaib = lewerboom/hout (Nama ai = lewer, vgl. Rust 1960 DNW 38). 'lewerboom' het dan in sy Namavorm verander tot 'Bitterboom', moontlik n.a.v. die feit dat die Blankes uitgegaan het van die bitterwortel van die lewerboom?
