Usemab

This is an interesting case. The -b of the ml. EKV. is a genus that usually occurs in names for rivers, meaning in Nama, but this river name is nevertheless a thereafter entered O.A. As 'Omusema' at Kohler 1958 Karibib map, and as 'Omisema' on SWA Series 1964 Ruit Zone 33 K Skin Windhoek. There are more such cases, cf. e.g. Kaman jab. Here the Prefiks of Herero were omitted, and the TB of Nama was added, with the result that USEMAB as Nama does. 'Omusema', incidentally, means 'Das Wasserloch Im River' (Koehler 1958 Hey Matkal 102).

eng This is an interesting case. There are more such cases, cf. e.g. Kaman jab. 'Omusema', incidentally, means 'Das Wasserloch Im River' (Koehler 1958 Hey Matkal 102).
afr Dit is ’n interessante geval. Die -b van die ml. ekv. is ’n genus wat ge- woonlik by name vir riviere voorkom, bedoelende in Nama, maar hierdie riviernaam is nogtans ’n Hereronaam wat ingeskryf is o.a. as 'Omusema' by Kohler 1958 Karibib kaart, en as 'Omisema' op SWA-reeks 1964 ruit- sone 33 K vel Windhoek. Daar is meer sulke gevalle, vgl. bv. KAMAN- JAB.
