Neikhoes
This Nikhoes lies southeastern from Usakos. It is now a smaller farm No. 74, and by Horn the 'Neikhois River' (SWA series 1965 Skin Walvis Bay) that has the same name. In the same mountain complex, the 'Kaelberg' is west of Nikhoes. The member is clear, and is like Namaǃ Nae- = camel, with transfer also giraffe. Hierdie Neikhoes le suidoostelik van Usakos. Dit is nou n kleinerige plasie nr 74, en deur horn loop die 'Neikhoisrivier' (SWA-reeks 1965 vel Walvisbaai) wat dieselfde naam het. In dieselfde bergkompleks le die 'Ka- meelberg' wes van Neikhoes. Die lid Nei- is sonder meer duidelik, en is soos Nama ǃnae-= kameel, by oordrag ook kameelperd. Die -khoe- is wel n ouer vorm, dit bevat die velere inset, die kh-, wat Nama nie meer vir die begrip 'nek' het nie. In Nama is 'nek' vandag ǃau- (Rust 1960 DNW 44). In Ou-Kaaps het 'nek' nog die velaar, bv. in die lomp spelling van quao, opgeteken van 1691 af (HOTT 399-400). Ook Kora ken die vorm Ikx'aub vir 'nek'. Die uitgang -s van die fern. sing, dui hier moontlik aan dat die naam vroeër op 'n fontein daar betrek was. 'Kameelperdnekfon- tein'.
