Hierdie Kobis beteken nie 'Kalkfontein' nie, maar die aanduidings is dat dit vereenselwig moet word met Nama ǃkhuwi- = vlei (vgl. Rust 1960 DNW 70). Daar is eerstens die byskrif van Andersson. en dan die klank- wisseling t.o.v. die vokaal wat aansluit by die -u- van Ikhuwi- vir 'vlei'. Hierdie plek le in die vlei- en moerasagtige gebied suid van die Ngami- meer.
