Xamgudomi

Xamgudomi is a tributary of Leue River, which in turn is a tributary (from the north-eastern direction) of the Omaruru River, north-west of the mission post Okombahe. The meaning is clearly clear. Nama Xam- = Lion, and -dommi = throat (Rust I960 DNW respectively 40 and 34), 'Lion (E) throat', with the -gu as exit of the ML. MV. at Xam, and with 'throat' in the application of export channel such as a river or stream, d.w.s. 'Leue River' or 'lion spruit'.

Die betekenis is sonder meer duidelik. Nama xam- = leeu, en -dommi = keel (Rust I960 DNW onderskeidelik 40 en 34), 'leeu(e)keel', met die -gu- as uitgang van die ml. mv. by xam-, en met 'keel' in die toepassing van afvoerkanaal soos 'n rivier of spruit, d.w.s.
