Die -cha- (Nama -xa-) dui hoeveelheid aan. so ongeveer 'baie', die am- is Nama vir mond, opening (hier: van water), fontein, bepaaldelik deur die -s (fern, sing.) aangedui. Dus: ǀNa(a)- of ǀNara- + -cha- + -am- + -s, die 'Fontein (-am-s) waar baie (-cha-) ǀnarabome staan'.
