Aoguwu-, sometimes shortened to Aogu-, is also the name of a Damarastam at Sesfontein. The meaning could not explain to us with certainty, not members of the tribe. Olga ǀ Nuas (Self An Aoguwudama) spoke of 'a small bunch used as a badger'.

Olga ǀNuas (self ’n Aoguwudama) het gepraat van 'n klein bossie wat as reukweerder gebruik word'.

Dit lyk dus heel waarskynlik dat in die grondwoord Aoguwu- die naam van 'n Damarastam gesien moet word, en dat die stamnaam in hierdie geval op die berg oorgegaan het, bv. as gevolg daarvan dat die stam hulle daar (op ’n tyd) gevestig het. Interes- sant is die verwysing van Olga ǀNuas na n plantsoort wat as parfuum aan- gewend is en waarvan die naam aan die stamnaam herinner. HJ Wiss 1974 Botanische Mitt 19 gee o.m. die volgende aan wat moontlik dieselfde plant geld 'Der eigenartige deutsche Name Schlangeneierbusch ist eine Ablei- tung aus dem Nama: ǀaoǃkuib oder auch ǀaoǃuwub (nach Poennighaus)...' (Bestanddele is: ǀao-b = 'Schlange', en ǃuwu-s = 'Ei', vgl. Rust 1960 DNW 53 en 16 resp.). Die naam is gegee n.a.v. die bruingeel elliptiese vrugvorm. Die botaniese naam is Maerua juncea Pax. Die Iguwub is blyk- baar ’n variant-iritspraak van luwub.
