The editor adds behind McKiernan's recording at 'Gaaidous'. It is now the name of farm No. 498, Dist. Grootfontein, and located right south of Otavi, also at McKiernan. Dr Hartmann writes no suction consonant, it makes the distraction pretty sure, viz. Like Nama Gaij = big, and dau- like dao- = port, also road, because the -s can locate the source at the -Dao-B = road. 'Great road', and if there is a gate, then 'Grootpoort source'. However, we should not lose sight of the possibility, viz. That the D and the G- often can allophone, so the part can vary with - ǀǀ Gau-S = site. We do not believe that this is the case, including because the postalization is not realized.
