Met toegang tot die SWA-reeks 1968 vel 1912 Sesfontein (1:250 000) (wat ons vroeër nie gehad het nie), wil ons nou 'n ander verklaring voorstaan as in TH A** 1087-1088. Daar het ons ons laat lei deur die anlautende suig- medeklinker van Hahn 1879 en diegene wat hom nageskryf het. Toe het ons die verklaring van Krenz 1974 tersyde geskuif, omdat hy ’n ander, des- tyds o.i. verkeerde, schnalz gebruik het. Nou meen ons dat Krenz gelyk gehad het. Hy het die standpunt gestel dat Uniab (en derivate) beteken 'Palmboomrivier'. Op die nuwe stel kaarte merk ons op dat die Uniab by sy boloop en verder af deur 'n palmboomryke omgewing vloei, soos ook uit naamgewings blyk, bv. aan sy boloop is daar die plase 'Palm' nr 708 en 'Palmwag' nr 702, en die Uniab vloei presies tussen die twee plase deur. Dan is daar naby nog GAMUNIAB of Krompalmboom, en UNIGAMS of Palmfontein. Uniab is dan soos Nama lunia = palmboom, plus ǃa-b = rivier.
