Shortridge 2 664 and Hott 204 S.V. Aardvark. Mr du Raan's statement can be reconciled language well with the mountain name. There is also a relationship thinking with Namaǃ Gum- = Oliewenhoutboom, the Olea Africana, a kind that indeed occurs in this region. Also in place names, eg. Along the Orange River more south of aiais.
