Khoabendus
The farms Khoabendus and Otjovazandu Le northwest of Kamanjab, in the Outjo district. Entries on old cards arouse the impression that the old expansion at the source had two names, the one Herero, the other Khoekhoen, and that the reorient had priority. Today, both are the mortal names for adjacent farms. MAIN COUNCIL Leopern heart connects the first part of the Khoekhoense name with ╪Khoa- = elephant, but its sucking conscient from those who heard Hartmann, and therefore his statement is under suspicion. The hereral name means 'Platz der Knaben', on the authority of Prof. Kohler 1958 in Africanischer Heimatka- Lover 104. If we want to apply this statement to the Khoekhoense name, then one will think of ǀ Goa-B = 'Junge' (Rest 1960 DNW 33), but then it is another suction consonant again than at Hartmann. The statement still escapes us.
