Guiganab (-Ost, -West)

This applies here No 273, a subdivision appears the addition 'GUI-Ganab-OST'. Mr van Rensburg, owner of -ost, explains the meaning other than Mr Espach, owner of -west, see th a * 477. Linguistically, Mr Van Rensburg's statement is preferable, backed by Mr Xaregeb and his team. It is a name composed of Nama ǀ Gui = one, and ǀǀ Gana- = camel thorn tree. Acacia Giraffe. The motivation is convincing and father-hearted (the camel thorn tree is still there). This corresponds to the declaration of giganabis, cf. Th a * p. 478. Started that the first member is declared by the owner of -ost with ǀ Gui = one, and the owner of -west understands it as ╪gui = many, many. And yet both of the statements do not stick, simply because the member gui- is not really gui-, but originallyǃ Gu-, cf. Guganab in this band.

afr Van Rensburg 1973 Boer Vraelys 'Guiganab.

TH A* bl. 478. GUGANAB in hierdie band.
