Vir die gegewe verklaring hierbo kyk vir die grondwoord Kr.-R. 1969 NW 93 en 228; die -s (fern, sing.) sal bepaal- delik die fontein aandui. Ons het nog twyfel. Die -cha- bv. laat dink aan ’n hoeveelheid, ’n oorvloed t.o.v. iets wat Kara- moet uitdruk, of aan ’n hoe- danigheid. In sy Aantekening hierby in 1979 het ook mnr Krenz FK Boer twyfel en skryf: 'Karuchas = klipperig. By fonteine is kalkklippe ’n gewone verskynsel'. Miskien moet ons se dat die vraag nog oop is
