Hoofnaam in die vorm 'Tsintsabis' ook op latere kaarte. PNK 950 'Tsintsabis. District Grootfontein. 43 Miles [69 km] north east of Tsumeb. Police station. No bus route. Old name. Originates from the Bushmen, but every attempt to ascertain its meaning has failed. The name is derived from the Hycum Bushmen...' [latere toevoeging:] 'According to Bushmen in this area the word Tsin means to see, and Tsabis means a long hole and possibly refers to the Ovambo Omuramba passing through the farm, i.e. See long Hole. The spelling was derived from the pronunciation of the word and was used by the Police at this Station from 1917 and before that by the German Police from 1912'. eng Today it is the name of Farm No 881, earlier it was worn by a made source, 'Gebrabenes washer', so opened, to the Omuramba. location etc. As with pnk above. The meaning of the old name. According to Dr Hartmann in the 'ǃ KU' area, according to PNK from the 'hycum' (= forest house people), is difficult to explain (pnk) or is declared diverse. We believe the rise that Dr Hartmann recorded, viz. 'Fischfontein', may contain the original meaning. As in such notes of at the time, usually the case. The -tsabi-S or -Tjabi-S (-s for the 'fountain') then locative, eg. Die betekenis van die ou naam. volgens dr Hartmann in die 'ǃKu'-gebied, volgens PNK afkomstig van die 'Hycum' (= Bos-huis-mense), is moeilik om te verklaar (PNK) of word uiteenlopend verklaar. Ons meen dat die toenaam wat dr Hartmann opgeteken het nl. 'Fisch-Fontein', die oorspronklike betekenis mag bevat. soos in sulke optekeninge van destyds gewoonlik die geval was. Die -tsabi-s of -tjabi-s (-s vir die 'fontein') wel dan lokatief, bv. soos dabi- elders, ’n Ander moontlikheid, ook met ander lettergreepverdeling, hou mnr Krenz voor, uitgaande van wat hy 'phonetisch' noem, naamlik klankassosiatief.
