Kalahari Bushmen en route to Johannesburg in a Dodge lorry

Kalahari Bushmen on their way to the Empire Exhibition in Johannesburg in 1936 in the back of a Dodge lorry. Jan Daalder was one of the lorry drivers during this trip. Donald Bain arranged this trip in order to bring awareness to the plight of the Bushmen who were at risk of losing access to the traditional land due to the proclamation of the Gemsbok National Park (1931).
